This project was given to the entire I-STEM Grade 10 studentbase to organise ourselves. Because of this, we had to create groups ourselves, as working as a large group would be inefficient. We split our base into 2, one focused on adopting the entire donation centre for a day, and the other supplying a bus that would transport donors to the centre at a certain time. Within those groups, we split into smaller groups, with my group being on P.A. system announcements.
After focusing on our topic, we decided to plan for what would be included within our announcements. We settled on including content such as the benefits of blood donation, the impact it can make and the rewards of it. We also created a an email template and drafting system to have our announcements go through our own "quality control before before being sent out to the school."
Using our newly created drafting processes, we delegated a date to each group member, often taking multiple to write announcements. We had guidelines for the content required in each announcement, including date, time and significance. Overall, this system was a great success. In the end of the project, we wrote an announcement thanking the school for their contributions, and then proceeded to fill out our logbook noting our contributions toward the intiative.
