The Facts
- This website is set in a time where certain Indigenous peoples could be banned from pool halls by a
court's decision.
- The news section depicts real events. Informal pressure from the government in 1927 started this
regulation.
- The 1930 amendment formally brought this rule, which is punishable. This will be explained in more
depth throughout the website.
A Short Timeline
- 1927: Unofficial bans begin throughout the nation.
- 1930: The Indian Act is ammended to include this rule, including bans & penalties.
- 1985: This power remains, however now in the hands of the governor general.
